Marcello Muro - Personal Biography
Originally a cameraman in both film and television, Marcello Muro started practicing "Yoga Chikitsa" (Ashtanga's primary series) in 1995 as therapy for recurring cervical inflammation. His first teacher was Susanna Finocchi, director of Ashtanga Yoga Copenhagen, with whom he practiced for approximately two years. She introduced him to Lino Miele, whom he began to follow in 1997, traveling repeatedly to India and attending numerous workshops in Italy, Greece, England, and Denmark. During his years of practice in India, Marcello also met Tina Pizzimenti and Gwendoline Hunt, who taught alongside Lino at the time.
In August of 2006, Marcello attended Sri K. Pattabhi Jois's last teaching tour and filmed the documentary "Guruji in Copenhagen." He continues to practice regularly with Lino today in both India and Italy. In 2009, Marcello also practiced with Shishadri in Mysore. He has dedicated himself exclusively to yoga since 2011 and participated in Lino's 2013 In-Depth Study, thereby receiving authorization to teach the primary series and pranayama. Since then, Marcello is honored to be one of Lino Miele's assistants and teaches regularly in Napoli.
