Marcello Leoni - Personal Biography
Marcello discovered yoga in 2005. Having mastered various sports intensively, he now felt the need to do something healthy for his body.
In 2006, Marcello met Lino Miele in a workshop, and he realized that Ashtanga yoga represented the method he was searching for. Under the guidance of Lino Miele, he pursued this new path. Dedicated, with respect for the Ashtanga practice, Marcello studied with Lino Miele in Italy and India for several years.
In 2011, he decided to quit his job definitively and dedicate himself full time to the practice and teaching. One year later (in 2012), Marcello opened up an Ashtanga yoga centre with the aim to teach Ashtanga yoga in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the way it was passed on to his master Lino Miele.
In 2013, Marcello took the In-Depth Study, thus obtaining the authorization from AYRI to teach and to assist Lino in the shala.
In Ashtanga yoga, Marcello recognizes an exceptional force, beneficial for both physical and mental health. This recognition fuels his enthusiasm, and when teaching, he tries to transmit the Ashtanga practice as transmitted to him, leaving every student room to pursue his or her own research on the journey.
