Magnus Appelberg - Personal Biography
Magnus Appelberg had been practicing different meditation techniques on and off since high school. After finishing his career as a dancer, he finally found a spiritual practice to which he could adhere--Ashtanga yoga. He started practicing regularly in 2000 at the Astanga Yoga School in Tampere, Finland. Two years later, in 2002, he took his first workshop with Lino Miele and started teaching at the school. Since then, he has attended all of Lino's workshops in Finland and a few abroad, and Lino has been his mentor ever since. Magnus was the head teacher of the Astanga Yoga School in Tampere from 2003-2008. In partnership with his wife Riitta, he also was the chef responsible for the vegetarian cuisine at Lino's annual summer retreats 2003-2009.
Magnus presently lives in Helsinki. He teaches primary and intermediate series at his own shala Rperin aamujooga at Merimiehenkatu 21 in Helsinki. He is also a popular guest teacher in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia and Poland.
