Yoga Teacher Training
Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa Krama
March and April, 2015
with Matthew Sweeney
Subjects include learning to teach:
The Sequence (I to IV)
Applying Yoga Therapy
Pranayama and Meditation
Communication Skills and Ethics
Anatomy and Physiology
Plus Self Practice Evaluation
This teacher training is organized into comprehensive 4 week programs. In order to be eligible to teach the Primary Series, the Lion Sequence and the Intermediate Series (Level II, III and IV) you must complete the previous trainings. Where possible the level I & II and the level III & IV courses can be attended concurrently - one immediately after the other.
All students wanting to attend this course (Level I) must have self practice experience, to be assessed individually. Each student should practice with me for at least one month prior to the Training course, to demonstrate the appropriate proficiency.
Ideally this training involves learning to teach both Ashtanga Yoga and the Vinyasa Krama sequences. Students are expected to have a willing desire to learn both, although some specialisation in either of these methods may be appropriate. The teacher training process is not arduous, and only depends on your ability to commit to the practice and commit to the learning process.
