Yogis for India
Namaste,
On Saturday 22nd October 2005, in conjunction with participating yoga
studios in
the UK and the rest of the world, US yoga studios are
being asked to participate in the "Great One-Oh-Eight" yogathon,
where participating students will be asked to do a massive 108 sun salutations
(surya namaskar A) for the non-profit, American
Society for International Shanti and its sister organization in Mysore,
India, Akhanda Seva for International Shanti. ASIS is working to help
the poorest and neediest
children and elderly, and the forgotten destitute, with the basic human
needs: food, shelter, medical services and educational assistance. They
are actively raising funds to build their first orphanage on the outskirts
of the city of Mysore. For more information, please visit the website
