1. Important Announcements from AYRI to all authorized/certified Ashtanga Yoga teachers:

(b) Please do not use any photos of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois or Sharath Rangaswamy in your promotional material (online or otherwise) without explicit permission from AYRI. Submit requests to info@ashtanga.com.

5. John Scott Ashtanga Relocating to New Zealand
John and Lucy are relocating to New Zealand. They are leaving the Yoga Studio in Penzance on 15th July 2005. We would like to take this opportunity to really THANK all the students who have come and enjoyed sharing Yoga with us here in Cornwall. We feel so BLESSED for all the students who have made the effort to travel all the way to Penzance, over the past 6 years, both at the Space at number 8 and at the The Yoga Studio, just to be with us - sharing Yoga. We (John and Lucy) will be creating a Yoga Retreat Centre in New Zealand. The Yoga Retreat Centre will be offering week and 4 week Mysore Style Intensives, and an Advanced Ashtanga Course. Further details will be anounced once we have set up and settled down. Finally - we look forward to seeing all those students who will be coming to Cornwall between now and our departure. Om Shanti, John and Lucy Scott.

6. A Charitable Donation Celebrating Guruji's 90th Birthday
As Guruji's 90th birthday celebration approaches, the question of how we may best honor him arises. We may wish to give Guruji gifts on his birthday—one can do so individually—but this letter suggests a collective strategy: a charitable donation to his community. As many students may not be able to travel to Mysore in July, this upcoming tour can become an opportunity to both study with Guruji and, at the same time, contribute to a birthday gift that will bring a positive impact to his local community. Herewith we may honor Guruji in a way that demonstrates to his family—and to his community—how deeply respected and loved he is abroad. Additionally, we can show how appreciative we are of the hospitality we have been extended time and again, over the many years that we have been guests and students in Mysore.

Please consider your contribution part of a collective birthday gift to Guruji from his students worldwide, the entire sum of which will be presented on May 19th, in New York City, on his last day of classes in the USA. Questions can be answered by writing to gurujipurnima@gmail.com. During the tour, cash and checks will be accepted at the venue—please look for the gift basket. Students may also give to the fund via Paypal. As part of Guruji's birthday celebration in July, local charities will receive equal portions of the collective gift given in Guruji's name, and in honor of his teachings. Thank you for your support—Abhaya Kaufman and Eddie Stern.
