Ashtanga Yoga Products & Resources
1. Mysore Style Astanga Yoga DVD by Melanie Fawer - In this 2-disk set (4.5 hours total), certified Ashtanga Yoga teacher Melanie Fawer captures the essence of Mysore practice in a 3-hour instruction disk, placing unique emphasis on the layering aspect of how poses are given in the Primary Series the way it is traditionally taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute. Beginners will find Ashtanga Yoga very accessible—and manageable—in this format. Putting it all together, the 1.5 hour led Primary Series disk then provides a good overview for all levels of practitioners and enables students to follow along at a faster pace up to one's current practice level in the series.
