2. Authorized Teachers List - These teachers have been authorized by the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute:
Mary Flinn (USA)
Jean Cho (USA)

3. Asia Yoga Conference (Hong Kong) June 1-4, 2007 - Register Now
Online registration is now open for Evolution: Asia Yoga Conference, a conference dedicated to serving the growing interest of Yoga in the Asia region.
See conference website for teaching schedules of Sharath Rangaswamy, David Swenson and Ken Harakuma. Update: Sri K. Pattabhi Jois will not be attending the conference due to health complications. His grandson Sharath Rangaswamy will teach the early morning Led Primary Series classes in his place. Sri K. Pattabhi Jois apologises for any inconvenience caused to his students in Asia, but needs to rest in order to look after his health. He has complete faith in Sharath as the torchbearer of the Ashtanga Yoga tradition and hopes that all participants will enjoy his teachings conveyed through his foremost student. He looks forward to making the trip out for Asia Yoga Conference 2008.

4. Update on Shakti Sharanam, Crestone, Colorado
Annie Pace is one of the most senior practitioners and teachers of Ashtanga yoga, having practiced for 27 years. She is a devoted student of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and continues to study extensively in India. Many ashtanga practitioners have attended her workshops and been inspired by her integrity and her devotion to the practice. For the past year, Annie has been building a new yoga shala and kirtan hall, Shakti Sharanam, in Crestone, Colorado. Shakti Sharanam is a 100% intentionally-built center that is dedicated to spiritual practices and will provide a haven for practitioners worldwide. The buildings currently under construction are strawbale, with photovoltaic electricity and solar radiant heat. This project embodies the commitment to yogic tradition as well as sustainable building and living. Unfortunately, at this time, Shakti Sharanam is in serious jeopardy. Annie needs to raise a significant amount of money by May 22 to be able to complete the project. For details, visit www.anniepace.com and click on "Shakti Sharanam." Certainly money is needed to complete the project, but most important are your prayers and well-wishes embracing this endeavor! If you are interested in contributing or if you have any creative fundraising ideas, please contact Annie at P.O. Box 1125, Crestone, CO 81131, (719) 256-5668.

5. Yoga Sutra Philadelphia School looking for Teachers
New York-based Yoga Sutra is in the process of opening a location in center city Philadelphia. Yoga Sutra is a multi-disciplinary yoga center that has the blessing of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, who visited us two years ago. Our facility is over 7,000 square feet and designed based on Vastu temple architecture; it’s elegant in its simplicity and a wonderful place to teach and practice. Our teachers are given the freedom to teach without worrying about running the business. We are steadfastly committed to the integrity of the traditional teachings and are not trying to brand our own style of yoga. Zoe Slatoff, Christopher Hildebrandt, Bay Bertea and others teach at Yoga Sutra. Please take a look at our website for more information: www.yogasutranyc.com. Yoga Sutra is looking for several authorized Ashtanga teachers for the Philadelphia school. We need at least two Mysore teachers who can teach students into the Advanced series and several teachers for led classes. This is a stable, well-paying, long-term opportunity. Yoga Sutra plans to open in Philadelphia in mid to late fall 2007. Interested candidates should email Yoga Sutra care of David Kelman at: info@yogasutranyc.com.
