Guruji's Next Last World Tour, Update

August 8, 2001

Greetings and best wishes from Mysore,

Our beloved Sri K. Pattabhi Jois is in fine health and spirits. Sharath and Shruthi are excited and expecting their first child sometime in January. The rest of the family is in excellent health and looking forward to the upcoming trip to Finland, New York and London. The new yoga shala in Gokulum is well underway and the first floor slab (of three floors) is due to be laid August 19th. Expected Completion date is June of next year. We will return October 17th and Guruji will commence classes on or about Sunday, October 21st and continue through 2002. Due to the yoga shala construction and arrival of Sharath and Shruthi's new baby, there are no travel plans until 2003 at this time. Needless to say, if you are planning to catch the Guru on the road, this is it for the near future.

This is the current situation, and if there are any changes, I will surely post them.

Guruji's Next Last World Tour, Part 1

Greetings to the Ashtanga Yoga Community,

It is with joy that I have great honor to announce that Sri K. Pattabhi Jois will be gracing us by venturing out on a two-part world tour. As many of you are aware, Guruji has been on numerous "Last World Tours," hence the title this year. Last year's tour was so successful and rejuvenating for Guruji that he has decided to visit some new venues this time.

Part 2 - 2002 (POSTPONED UNTIL 2003)

Travel will commence after the first of the year and exact dates will be announced in July, 2001 (I hope). The locales will include the U.S. West Coast, Hawaii and Australia. On behalf of Guruji, Sharath and Saraswathi we all look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones in the coming months.
